Renowned scholar Lance Liebman to speak at labor and employment law event

What would Justice Louis D. Brandeis have to say about today's labor laws?

Lance Liebman, professor and former dean of Columbia Law School, will address that topic in his keynote speech June 9, 2016, at the Carl A. Warns Jr. and Edwin R. Render Labor and Employment Institute.

"Brandeis was always interested in protecting the most vulnerable aspects of our society, including workers and debtors, and I think Brandeis would be very concerned about the bigness of today's industry," said Mark Rothstein, Herbert F. Boehl Chair of Law and Medicine at the University of Louisville. "He would be very concerned about the disparity in wages, and he would also be very concerned about the lack of privacy of workers."

Rothstein and Liebman have worked together for many years, having co-authored an employment law case book now in its eighth edition.

Liebman, a highly respected scholar, is also an engaging and amusing speaker, Rothstein said.

His talk will appeal to a wide range of lawyers.
