Teaching Awards
Barbara Taustine Plattus Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching
This award is funded by a gift from the husband and children of Barbara Taustine Plattus, a public school teacher and part-time faculty member at UofL who was passionate about English, theater, and teaching. To be considered for this award, GTAs submit a teaching portfolio at the end of the spring semester. The winners are selected by the English Department’s Composition Committee; in recent years, one award has gone to an MA student and one to a PhD student. The amount of the award changes annually based on the endowment.
Congratulations to PhD student Christina Davidson, winner of the 2023-2024 Plattus Award!
