The Middle School Education (MAT) equips future teachers with the knowledge and skills to support diverse learners in grades 5-9. Through a combination of rigorous coursework and immersive clinical field experiences, you’ll master effective teaching strategies and become a critical thinker ready to meet the needs of 21st-century classrooms. Graduates are eligible for Kentucky teaching certification in grades 5-9 and may choose two content specialization areas including Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Eligible students benefit from UofL’s Tuition Reduction initiative, saving approximately 25% on graduate tuition.
