MA in Applied Philosophy with concentration in Health Care Ethics
The Health Care Ethics MA is designed to provide students with an enriched ethical knowledge base and to help them prepare to do research and teach in interdisciplinary fields.
Health Care Ethics Certificate
The graduate certificate in Health Care Ethics is a 15-credit-hour interdisciplinary graduate certificate is drawn primarily from coursework already offered for the MA and can be completed in one academic year. The certificate focuses on issues of social justice and the importance of race, gender, class, sexuality, religion, and culture on health and health care. The certificate is designed to serve mid-career professionals, faculty and staff on hospital ethics committees, and students in graduate and professional programs who want to enhance their credentials. Diversity Literacy Certificate
The Certificate in Diversity Literacy will provide a unique opportunity for students who have already earned bachelor’s degrees to enhance their knowledge and skills of the theory and practice of inclusion and equity, including what diversity means, what its personal and social effects are, and how it shapes lives, workplaces, and pedagogy.
Health Justice Microseminars
The Philosophy Department offers one-day, one-credit classes that enable you to do an intensive deep dive into a problem in health justice. We introduce the series in 2023-24 with four courses offered in-person on the Health Sciences Campus.
Humanities MA
This interdisciplinary Master's Degree offers talented students the opportunity to pursue advanced training in philosophy while avoiding excessive specialization too early in their academic career
Humanities PhD
Students in the Humanities PhD Program design individual, interdisciplinary courses of study. The program is grounded in both historical and global perspectives on thought, the arts, and culture.
