Cardinal Students' Philosophical Research Soars

Health Care Ethics interns Cora Grief, Shannon-Claire Barnes, Esper Wadih, and Victoria Magloire flank mentor Prof. Lauren Freeman

Last summer, Andrew Heggie '25 conducted research under the mentorship of Dr. Asaf Angermann, and this spring Andrew presented his research paper, “Between Augustine and Arendt,” at the Kentucky Philosophical Association conference at WKU in Bowling Green. Andrew is also the president of the UofL chapter of Phi Sigma Tau Philosophy Honors Society.

Among graduate students, our two physicians, Dr. Victoria Magloire MA '24 and Dr. Esper Wadih MA '24, conducted clinical ethics research in their fellowship program at Norton Children's Hospital, while Shannon-Claire Barnes and Cora Grief, both MA '24, pursued research internships at the Kentucky Department of Public Health, doing important work on outreach and equity.
