Goal #1 - Promote engaged scholarship opportunities

  1. Establish/Maintain infrastructure in support of faculty, Staff & student scholarship
  2. Internal or external recognition of Nursing Engaged Scholarship (faculty, staff & students)

Selected Outcomes for Goal #1

We recognize that units may not have the capacity to align an outcome with every goal and strategy, therefore we are asking units to select one outcome per goal. However, units are welcome to list multiple outcomes for each Goal.

  1. Faculty and student activities will result in publication or presentations
  2. One faculty project and one student project will be recognized

Targets related to the Outcome(s) for Goal #1

In most cases, targets should be quantitative. For example, a percent or number increase over an established baseline.

Publications –  target 1/ 3 completed

Presentations – target 2/ 3 completed

Projects – target 39/ 62 completed

Recognitions –  target 1 student group/ 1 student group (UG - internal) & 1 student (G - external) completed ; target 1 faculty member/ 2 faculty (1 internal /1 external) completed

 All Met – see outcomes above – 100% or greater above target numbers

Action Plan for Goal #1

This provides evidence of “closing the loop”, by utilizing the results described in your findings to indicate strategies for continuous program improvement to enhance the community engagement efforts of your unit.

Currently experiencing changes in administration and multiple new faculty. Will share data with ULSON in Fall 2019 and plan strategies for continued success based on that feedback.

  2. Build opportunities for faculty, staff, and students in target area

There are currently long term ties with communities in the SPI area which provide valuable learning experiences for our students.

30 CE activities (combined – excluding SPI area) at the local, national and international levels including 2 international activities

Met – 50 CE activities including 2 international (Belize & Ghana).

All current activities are tied to faculty areas of expertise and student learning needs which supports feasibility and sustainability.

  Greater than 90% capture of ULSON CE activities for the CE report

Unmet – unreported activities identified during this reporting (n=7) for a total of 89%

Although significantly improved over prior years, under-reporting is still occurring. Increased emphasis will be placed on continuous reminders with a focus on follow up on the administrative level. Beginning development of an internal reporting system based on current CE goals.
