Goal #1 - Promote engaged scholarship opportunities

This is listing of all unit strategies related to Goal #1 - Promote engaged scholarship opportunities
- Establish/Maintain infrastructure in support of faculty, Staff & student scholarship
- Internal or external recognition of Nursing Engaged Scholarship (faculty, staff & students)
Selected Outcomes for Goal #1
We recognize that units may not have the capacity to align an outcome with every goal and strategy, therefore we are asking units to select one outcome per goal. However, units are welcome to list multiple outcomes for each Goal.
- Faculty and student activities will result in publication or presentations
- One faculty project and one student project will be recognized

Action Plan for Goal #1
This provides evidence of “closing the loop”, by utilizing the results described in your findings to indicate strategies for continuous program improvement to enhance the community engagement efforts of your unit.

Shared information with faculty and administration during Fall 2019 and Fall plans to were maintained and validated for the 2019-20 reporting period.

- Identify engagement activities in the SPI target area
- Build opportunities for faculty, staff and students in target area

Met – 10 projects conducted in the SPI target area * due to COVID count may be under reported; focus on changing educational strategies.

There are currently long term ties with communities in the SPI area which provide valuable learning experiences for our students and made it easier for us to meet goals even during this uncertain period.

30 CE activities (combined – excluding SPI area) at the local, national and international levels including 2 international activities

Not met due to COVID. Also due to COVID unable to verify the accuracy of the reported numbers

- If you met the target(s), what factors led to success, and how will that be supported in the upcoming year?
Provided an update to faculty in Fall 2019 with information about prior year’s success. However due to the Pandemic, the Fall 2020 report will discuss how we might facilitate community engagement with social distancing and remote learning restrictions. Will work with a faculty group to use technology to develop opportunities for the current academic year.
