Dr. Becerril was born and raised in Cuernavaca, Mexico. She graduated from TecSalud School of Medicine in Monterrey. After earning her medical degree, she moved to Houston, TX, for a two-year research fellowship in the Department of Neurosurgery at UTHealth Houston. There, she focused on high-risk neurovascular pathology—hemorrhagic stroke, dural arteriovenous fistulas, and arteriovenous malformations—and was primary research coordinator for the NIH-funded SATURN clinical trial.
During her research years, Dr. Becerril presented original research at national meetings (AANS, CNS), published multiple peer-reviewed articles and served as a research mentor to students, residents, and fellows. Outside the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, running, hiking, watching movies, and staying connected with her family.
