Dr. Brian Hibbard graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, a Master’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology and his medical degree. During medical school, he was part of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society and he received the Dean’s Award.

Dr. Hibbard’s PM&R interests are broad, and he is very excited to explore the many avenues available at the University of Louisville. He enjoys teaching and is interested in medical education. He has taught in various roles, including as a teaching assistant for biology labs during undergraduate and graduate school. During medical school, he helped teach a course on physical exam maneuvers for preclinical students and taught clinical principles while working in the free clinic. He now enjoys teaching medical students as a resident at UofL.

Improving health equity is very important to Dr. Hibbard and is one of his primary reasons for going into medicine. In medical school, he served on the executive board of the Community Care Free Medical Clinic in Toledo and volunteered hundreds of hours serving the underserved in Toledo. He hopes to find a way to incorporate this passion into his future practice as a physiatrist. 

Dr. Hibbard’s hobbies include Reading  (world history, history of medicine, Lord of the Rings), Gardening (community gardens, balcony garden) and all forms of Coffee (roasting and brewing coffee. He even has 6 different ways to make coffee at home! He also enjoys exploring local cafes/coffee roasters when he travels.
