Dr. Arin Amin
Arin Amin, DO
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Resident
Department of Neurological Surgery
Dr. Arin Amin was born and raised in the metro Detroit area. He studied Business at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business before earning his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University KPCOM. Prior to coming to Louisville, he completed his internship at Trinity Health Livonia Hospital.
Before medical school, Dr. Amin built a foundation in healthcare innovation at two clinical-stage biopharmaceutical companies. He was directly involved in both the scientific and business development of multiple clinical assets, from analyzing and designing clinical trials to preparing statements for SEC and FDA review. This experience gave him a comprehensive understanding of the drug development process, including raising capital through a $30 million IPO and navigating the regulatory nuances of an orphan drug designated for an underserved population.
Dr. Amin is passionate about using emerging technologies to improve rehabilitation care. As an undergraduate, he completed a Senior Honors Thesis in the Health Economics of Lifestyle Disease. While in medical school, he simultaneously earned a Master of Science in Health Informatics, for which he received the Dean's Award for graduating with the highest scholastic achievement. Dr. Amin believes the next frontier for physiatry lies in the thoughtful integration of new and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Dr. Amin will be a second-generation physiatrist, inspired by his mother, who practices in Michigan. His clinical interests include general physiatry, brain injury medicine, and ultrasound. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and trying new foods. His enthusiasm for travel was solidified during a semester studying abroad at the National University of Singapore, and he is currently on a quest to visit every U.S. National Park. He is an avid water and snow skier, and a diehard fan of the Detroit Lions and Michigan Wolverines.
