The Summer Research Opportunity Program provides University of Louisville undergraduate students with an intensive 10-week, 35 hour per week, research experience with a faculty member in any discipline. The program will run from May 30th to August 4th, 2023.
Students will receive a stipend of $3,500 for the 10 weeks, and faculty mentors will receive $500 to support the student's scholarly activities and supplies plus a poster printing allowance. The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity will host weekly, required, professional development seminars each Wednesday at noon, via MS Teams. There will be a Research Showcase at the end of the summer for students to present posters on their accomplishments from the program.
Prior to applying the program, students should identify a faculty mentor who will provide the student with an individualized research project for the summer.
Application requirements: Personal statement of interest, resume or CV, unofficial transcript, letter of recommendation from the mentor which includes a description of the SROP project. The letter of recommendation from the mentor will be requested after the student submits the application.
