Community Engagement Award
The University of Louisville School of Nursing recognizes faculty members and students who have excelled in the area of community engagement. This recognition can be for their student service learning projects, or faculty outreach/service, research, or engaged teaching. The Community Engagement Award has been given since 2012.
The Student Community Engagement Award is determined by the ULSON BSN/MSN Committee and the Faculty Award is determined by the ULSON Faculty Affairs Committee. Student recipients (individual or group) are recognized at ULSON commencement ceremonies. A certificate is received by each student involved in the project and funds are provided which the student(s) can designate for any nonprofit organization of their choosing. Faculty Community Engagement Award recipients receive a plaque and funding which they can use at their discretion. Faculty members are recognized annually.
Announcement for submission of applications for Community Engagement Awards are made by the reviewing committees. Funding for those awards are provided through the Office of Community Engagement and Diversity Inclusion.
