Dr. Imelda Wright completed her PhD in Nursing at the University of Louisville. She has over four years of teaching experience in the undergraduate nursing program at the University of Louisville. Dr. Wright was admitted to a tenure track in 2020 and received her first extramural grant from the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) Research Foundation that year. Her research focuses primarily on the perioperative environment, and she has a specific interest in factors that affect the overall culture of safety in this high-risk area of healthcare. She has eight peer-reviewed publications and has presented numerous podium and poster presentations at regional and local research conferences. Dr. Wright has experience in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods studies.
