Scott Silva, M.D., Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Director of Brachytherapy
Dr. Silva earned his bachelor’s degree at The University of Texas at Austin and then completed the M.D./Ph.D. program at the University of Kentucky. Following medical school, he completed an internship in general surgery at Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, TN and residency in Radiation Oncology at Loyola University in Chicago, IL. Upon completion of residency, he received the RSNA Roentgen Resident Award for research on brachytherapy. His clinical focus is gynecologic and GU cancers, with a specific interest in applying brachytherapy, using radioactive sources in an internal fashion, to the management of these malignancies.
