Applying to our Program

Thank you for your interest in the Orthopaedic Residency Program at the University of Louisville. The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery utilizes the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for the residency application process. All applications must be submitted electronically by October 30. The Department will screen all applicants and invitations will be issued at noon (EST)  on November 17, 2025, at 12:00pm ET during Universal Offer Day. Applicants can begin accepting interview offers during a 48-hour window: Tuesday, November 18, 12:00 PM (EST) to Thursday, November 20, 12:00 PM (EST).

The ERAS application includes:

  • Electronic Application
  • Personal Statement
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Dean's Letter
  • USMLE scores

Residency interviews will be conducted in person late January-early February.
