Community Engagement
Addressing the needs and interests of our communities locally, statewide, nationally and internationally.
The Nystrand Center of Excellence in Education presents Grace James Academy to University of Louisville and Community.
In August 2019, members of Jefferson County School Board voted unanimously to approve a school devoted to girls of color, which according to district plans will be a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) Academy. Grace James Academy of Excellence principal Dr. Ronda Cosby has welcomed the first class of 150 sixth grades girls to the newest JCPS School. Dr. Cosby and her team are excited to discuss their new school.
The Nystrand Center of Excellence in Education supports and facilitates education reform through its outstanding special programs and initiatives. Strong community partnerships are the heart of our success and serve as an inspiration for those who work so diligently to provide a better education for our children. It is our mission to continue with transformation through collaboration by leading the discussion on education reform, policy, research, and practice.
