Date: Monday June 2nd, Tuesday June 3rd, and Wednesday June 4th
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 pm each day
Where: Teaching Innovation Learning Lab (TILL)
The community-based learning institute is a three-half day program designed to assist faculty in developing a new community-based learning course or modify an existing course to include a community-based learning (CBL) component. The institute explore the various components of community-based learning, providing participants with an in depth understanding of teaching a CBL course. At the end of the three days, participants will have ideas and strategies to give their course a jump start for the next semester.
The Community-Based Learning Institute will be delivered in person. All faculty members, tenured, tenured-tracked, term, and part-time as well as graduate students are invited to participate. All participants are required to participate in all three days of the institute. Participants can expect presentations from other faculty and community partners and participate in small group exercises and dedicated work time.
