Dr. Rucker C. Johnson is an economist and the Chancellor’s Professor in the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, and a faculty research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He was awarded the Grawemeyer Award in Education for his contributions as the author, with Alexander Nazaryan, of Children of the Dream: Why School Integration Works.
Dr. Johnson studied the progress of more than 15,000 school children through adulthood and shares the remarkable findings in his book. He also examines how integration has progressed, and sometimes regressed, in several districts around the country – including JCPS.
