Community Engagement
Addressing the needs and interests of our communities locally, statewide, nationally and internationally.
Drawing on studies of exemplar, highly impactful engaged scholars, Dr. KerryAnn O'Meara shares examples of high impact community engaged scholarship and strategies adopted by engaged scholars to succeed in reward systems that are not yet fully inclusive of this work. We consider ways in which projects with community partners might be designed to document expertise or knowledge drawn on, impact, and significance.
The Office of Diversity and Equity has sponsored our institutional membership to the National Association for Faculty Development and Diversity, so it’s free for anyone with a UofL address (folks just need to sign up to become a member using their UofL e-mail at https://www.facultydiversity.org/).
