The A&S Development Team serves to support your program’s success through philanthropic giving. 

All gifts to the University of Louisville are managed through the University of Louisville Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. All gifts made to the University are tax deductible.   

Depositing Checks

  • Checks should be made out to “University of Louisville Foundation, Inc” and include your program’s G---- or E---- account number and name in the memo line.
  • Checks must be filled out completely and deposited within 90 days of the date written on the check or otherwise will not be accepted. 
  • Check can be dropped off to the Development Office at the campus address below. Please contact an A&S Development Officer if you plan to drop off checks to ensure appropriate staffing is present to accept the checks:

Annual Fund: 

Broad solicitations to raise support for a program’s general fund or a specific project, scholarship, or fund are considered “annual fund.” The advancement office can support you by providing email communication to alumni, pulling donor lists, providing direct giving links, or promoting your event via the UofL Alumni website. Alumni communication requests can be made on the Advancement Communications Request Page. Lead time on alumni communication requests are typically 2-4 weeks.

Raise Some L

Raise Some L, UofL’s annual day of giving, is traditionally held during Homecoming Week and is a chance for the Cardinal Community to support students, research, and campus initiatives that help build a better world. 

This year’s Raise Some L will begin at 6:02pm on Tuesday, October 24, through 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

New Platform! We are exploring new platform options for this year’s Raise Some L to better support our many university groups. More information to come soon on participation in this year’s Day of Giving. 

Anyone can serve as an RSL Ambassador to help raise funds on the day. In order to have your area (department, center, campus group, etc.) considered for the day of giving website, there are a few requirements:

Not every area will receive their own individual page. Most departments and units will be grouped with similar departments or units in their respective area.

Alumni Councils

Councils allow for alumni to connect with each other, their respective affinity, and the university. The Alumni Office will support any unit in formalizing an alumni council through their council program, training active alumni to become ambassadors for the university.
