High School Group Visits
Schedule Your Group Visit
A High School Group Visit can be requested by a program coordinator, counselor, or anyone responsible for a group of high school students. Groups serving primarily first-generation or under-resourced students may also request an OYES (Order Your Educational Steps) visit, a specialized experience designed to help students better understand and prepare for the college-going process. For the best experience for all groups, we ask that groups include between 10 to 60 students.
Group visits are offered Monday-Friday this summer and typically offer a morning and afternoon option. Please keep in mind that all group visits require a minimum of two weeks' notice.
Group Visit Highlights
Student-Led Walking Tour
Your group will receive a student-led walking tour through our beautiful, park-like campus. Student guides will lead your group on the tour, tell you about their own experiences, and answer questions about student life.
Admissions Presentation
Your Group Visit to Belknap Campus includes a 30-minute presentation from an admissions representative. We will cover the admissions process, scholarship opportunities, housing, student life and more.
OYES (Order Your Educational Steps) Group Visit
Groups including high school students who are under resourced or first generation can request a OYES (Order Your Educational Steps) Group Visit.
Prepare For Your Visit
Accommodations can be requested when you register for a High School Group Visit. Please indicate if anyone in your group requires language or ASL interpretation, physical accommodations, etc. on the registration form under, "Additional Requests."
If your group would like to eat on campus before or after your visit, please let us know when you register for a Group Visit. Lunch vouchers are supplied for all student guests.
Parking is provided for your group. Instructions for parking will be sent directly to the requester before the day of the visit.
Our staff will make every effort to keep your Group Visit appointment. If your visit is canceled for inclement weather or an emergency, we will contact you as soon as possible.
- If classes are delayed two hours, the program will begin at the regularly scheduled time.
- If classes are canceled and the university is closed, the program will be canceled as well.
- If there is severe weather on the day of your visit, check our campus weather status on our homepage or call 502.852.5555 for the open status of our University.
- If your visit is canceled but you have already traveled to Louisville, please contact us and we will try our best to work with you!
Here are some helpful tips to help your group prepare for your campus tour:
- Dress casually and for the weather. Group visits will continue rain or shine barring any emergency weather.
- Comfortable shoes for the tour are a must.
- A jacket or umbrella are helpful in case of rain.
- Bring a refillable water bottle.
Get the most out of your time on campus!
Encourage your students to ask questions on the tour and during the presentation. The best visits are the ones that are the most interactive. We want your students to get the most out of their time on our campus!
