APP Lab receives NIH grant
The APP Lab received a 5-year R01 grant from NIDCD titled "Perception of speech in context by listeners with healthy and impaired hearing." In collaboration with Dr. Matthew Winn, this project will examine acoustic context effects in speech perception from several different directions, including how these effects are related within listeners, how listeners use acoustic context amidst background noise, how listeners who use hearing aids or cochlear implants utilize context in speech perception, and neural underpinnings of these effects in the auditory nerve.
