Healthcare Leadership (Minor)
Lead in Healthcare
The Healthcare Leadership Minor is an 18-credit online program designed for students from any major who want to build leadership skills in healthcare. Featuring accelerated 8-week courses, the curriculum covers healthcare leadership, quality improvement, and healthcare law. Students can choose electives from various fields like data analytics, medical anthropology, and GIS. Open to students with 24 credit hours and a 2.25 GPA, this minor prepares graduates for leadership roles in diverse healthcare settings, blending academic rigor with practical, real-world experience.

This program can be completed 100% online, or as a combination of online and in person courses. In person courses are offered on campus and at off-site locations. All courses required for completion are routinely offered in accelerated format (e.g., during 8-week terms).
Admission to the minor in Healthcare Leadership requires completion of 24 credit hours, a cumulative GPA of 2.25, and a minimum of one year’s of healthcare experience across a wide variety of organizational settings. Applicants who do not meet these minimum requirements may petition the department for consideration of admission.

At least three (3) semester hours of the requirements for a minor must be successfully completed while enrolled in the University of Louisville.
Exit Requirements: Students must demonstrate competency by passing each class with a C- or better. A minimum 2.25 cumulative grade point average is required to complete the minor.
LEAD courses are offered in an 8-week format. Two half-term sessions will be available in Fall and Spring and one session will be available in Summer. Students may start the program at the beginning of the Fall and Spring terms, at the beginning of the second half of the Fall or Spring terms, or in the summer semester.
