Enhance your major with a Finance minor that will be useful in every type of business by gaining the ability to understand and apply financial concepts and skills. The courses in the minor provide students with an understanding of individual investing, the scope and nature of the economy's financial sector and the challenges and opportunities for businesses competing in the global marketplace.

The College of Business offers a minor in Finance available to all UofL students. Completion of program prerequisites with a 2.8 grade point average and a 2.8 cumulative grade point average is required before enrolling in the Finance minor program core courses. Actuarial majors who declare for the finance minor can waive the prerequisite statistics course below, since their actuarial program requires two rigorous statistics courses.
For graduation (in addition to all other degree requirements) a 2.0 GPA is required in the Finance minor courses.

At least three (3) semester hours of the requirements for a minor must be successfully completed while enrolled in the University of Louisville.
2.0 GPA in Finance minor program core coursework and a 2.0 cumulative UofL GPA are required for graduation.

The following courses will also meet the statistics requirement: MATH 109, PSYC 301, SOC 301, ISE 360, MATH 360, PHST 302, POLS 390, BSTA 301, MGMT 201, or equivalent.
Actuarial majors who declare for the Finance Minor may waive this statistics course requirement, since the actuarial students have two rigorous statistics courses in their major program.
