Lucina is the school's newest high-fidelity patient simulator
Located in the Trilogy Health Services, LLC, and the Bufford Family Foundation High-Fidelity Nurse Simulation Lab, Lucina allows students to train on all the stages of delivery and emergency scenarios, including giving real-time feedback during CPR resuscitation.
She has a realistic and controllable birthing process, realistic articulation for labor and delivery maneuvers, and predicted APGAR scores (newborn assessment) based on the integrated maternal-fetal physiology. Lucina can perform normal delivery and breech birth to shoulder dystocia and eclampsia. She has LED eyes that react to light and change depending on the patient’s condition.
This simulator has a non-pregnant abdomen so she also can be utilized as a non-pregnant patient in all courses throughout our nursing programs.
