BSN students take part in the Transition Ceremony
Over 90 students (from the Louisville and Owensboro campuses) and 175 family members attended the Transition Ceremony held Sunday, September 9, 2012. The undergraduate students were recognized for their achievements as they enter the profession of nursing. Following the ceremony, approximately 200 people toured the School of Nursing during an open house. In addition, Dr. Hines-Martin presented the community engagement awards to recognize our outstanding undergraduate and doctoral students for their accomplishments. Dr. Diane Chlebowy thanked the numerous faculty who attended the event, including:Dr. Beth Johnson, Dr. Vicki Hines-Martin, Dr. Fawwaz Alaloul, Dr. Valerie McCarthy, Ms. Heather Mitchell, Ms. Heather Owens, Ms. Alona Pack, Ms. Nicole Perkins, Ms. Diane Riff, Ms. Sara Robertson, Ms. Melanie Schrader, Dr. Sandra Smith, and Dr. Karen Turner.She also thanked the following people who contributed to the event's success: Ms. Trish Hart, who worked many hours to plan the exceptional open house; the Student Affairs subcommittee members; Ms. Molly Hall for her many hours of assistance; Nursing Student Council volunteers; and Ms. Meredith Mader, a December 2012 graduate, who played the piano.
