On Friday, March 7, over 160 students, faculty, and alumni of the University of Louisville School of Nursing gathered to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the school and honor 40 outstanding alumni. The celebration took place in the Kosair Charities Clinical and Translational Research Building.

Dean Marcia J. Hern welcomed all in attendance and reflected on the past, present, and future of the School of Nursing. University of Louisville President James R. Ramsey and Provost Shirley Willihnganz both congratulated the school on its 40 years. They also emphasized the importance and validity that the field of nursing has in the current and changing economy. Students from the BSN, MSN, and PhD programs shared their experiences.

A school of nursing tour and brunch were held on Sunday, March 9 at the School of Nursing. Additional events celebrating the 40 anniversary of the school will be held throughout the year, including a special nursing event on Thursday, Nov. 6 - so mark your calendar.  More information to come!
