Kaye Honored as 2020 School of Nursing Fellow
Dr. Judy Kaye received her Master of Science in Nursing in 1991 from the University of Louisville. She received her Associate of Nursing from Louisville’s Jefferson Community College in 1975, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bellarmine University in 1987, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Registered Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University in 2000. Dr. Kaye is a member of the University of Louisville 2014 Nursing Top 40 Alumni.
Dr. Kaye served as an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing and as adjunct graduate faculty and visiting assistant professor at Florida State University School of Nursing. Dr. Kaye served as research specialist, critical care neuroscience clinical nurse specialist, and gerontology nurse practitioner at the University Hospital of Augusta, Georgia. During her time in Louisville, Dr. Kaye worked as a critical care educator for several hospitals, in the Intensive Care Unit of St. Anthony Medical Center, as an oncology charge nurse in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and clinical instructor nurse manager in the Intensive Care Unit at Humana Hospital, and as associate professor at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Kaye received numerous regional and national honors and awards. She has published and presented on critical care nursing topics. In addition, Dr. Kaye was the first nurse to conduct research and publish on spirituality of caregivers.
Upon retiring from the nursing profession, Dr. Kaye owned and operated two IHOP restaurants. She later started a successful career in real estate. Currently, Dr. Kaye is a licensed realtor in Georgia and South Carolina where she works with her two daughters in her Judy Sells Houses, ReMax Reinvented team.
Dr. Kaye established the Dr. Judy Kaye Endowed Scholarship at the UofL School of Nursing.
