As the dean of the University of Louisville School of Nursing, it is my pleasure to warmly welcome you to our School! The School of Nursing works to transform the health of those in global communities.  I invite you to learn about these school-wide efforts by visiting the study abroad section of our website. You will find opportunities to travel to Belize, Botswana, Croatia, Haiti, Philippines, and Tanzania that are led by our nursing faculty. These programs are designed to give students an opportunity to experience a variety of cultures across the globe.

We offer a variety of programs. The BSN Program is located in Louisville and Owensboro. Our RN-BSN is an online program designed with 8-week courses. We also have an MSN Program and an accelerated RN program that leads to a Master in Nursing (MEPN) which is ideal for individuals with a degree in another discipline who would like to graduate with a BSN and MSN.

Our Doctorate of Nursing Practice Program has a number of concentrations that produce doctorally prepared advanced practice nurses trained to ensure a high quality of care from a holistic perspective. Our Doctorate of Philosophy Program is designed to train the next generation of nurse researchers and to advance nursing science.  Research and scholarship are integral part of the UofL School of Nursing, which affords students the opportunity to work with Nurse Researchers in examining complex health problems in a variety of settings.

Across all of our programs, we are focused on student success. You will find dedicated faculty and staff who are committed to academic excellence and to providing a quality learning environment for students. State-of-the-art simulation labs, a student services center with advisers, smart classrooms, and an expert technology team support the needs of students. Our tradition of service-learning, community engagement and leadership also contribute to our nursing excellence.

We are committed to preparing compassionate patient advocates, competent care in the inpatient and outpatient settings and compassionate nurses that are skilled as ensuring safe practice. We take great pride in graduating Cardinal Nurses who are alumni that carry forth our tradition of excellence.
