The last stop on your self-guided tour is the Huson Imaging and Characterization Laboratory. Many of the devices and their features fabricated in the cleanroom are very small and cannot be seen with a traditional optical microscope. In these cases, a Scanning Electron Microscope or SEM is used to generate images, but they use electrons instead of light. On the wall before you are images created by the SEMs from the Huson Laboratory. Part of this collection also exhibits items created by nature, such as the ants or cells from the human body.
