Electives
Med-Peds Electives
- We have a two-week Med-Peds Elective rotation that each resident takes once a year, PGY-3/4 residents have their rotation in the Fall and PGY-1/2 residents in the Spring. Our residents do not have back-up obligations during this half-block. This affords us the opportunity to have clinic-focused time, protected time for personal appointments, group community service and wellness activities and Med-Peds content days covering a range of topics including Transitions in Medicine, Health Care Disparities, Wellness, Business and Leadership and more.
- We have combined rotations that have been carefully crafted to achieve exposure to Med-Peds specific objectives while making efficient use of time in the busy schedule of a Med-Peds resident Many of these were prompted by resident interest and we are always happy to entertain new ideas!
- Combined Neurology, Combined Pulmonology, Combined Musculoskeletal, Transitions of Care
- AHEC (Area Health Education Center) Community Rotations, Allergy/Immunology, Dermatology & Palliative Care can also incorporate the care of adults and children.
Categorical Electives
- Listed first are some of the core rotations offered by each side; however, there are many more specific electives that can be crafted into a career-specific schedule. We spend time crafting schedules that support each resident's unique career plans and interests.
