Undergraduate Admissions
The Bachelor of Science degree in communication sciences and disorders at the University of Louisville is a new program slated to start in the Fall 2025 semester. The program is a part of the Department of Otolaryngology and Communicative Disorders and is housed in the School of Medicine on the Health Sciences Center campus. The program serves as a pathway leading to graduate study in either speech-language pathology or audiology. Entering freshmen at UofL are encouraged to declare their major as "pre-communication sciences and disorders" for advising and application processes. The program and university advisors will work in tandem to ensure consistency of information provided to the students. Formal admission to the undergraduate program is made in the during the second semester of the student's sophomore year. The minimum requirements for admission include:
- The applicant must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Each applicant must complete CMDS 245 (Survey of Communication Disorders) with a grade of C or higher.
- Each applicant must complete CMDS 270 (Clinical Observation) with a grade of "pass".
- Each applicant must complete an online application, available HERE.
- A formal interview may be required of some applicants.
