- Faculty advisors should remind/inform advisee about the University’s deadline to apply for a degree in the term in which all degree requirements are met.

- Students must apply for a degree at the beginning of the semester in which they are planning to graduate. It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of University deadlines, including the degree application deadline. Students may access this information on-line through the Academic Calendar
- Doctoral students can apply for their degree BEFORE they complete their final dissertation defense since it's often the case that they will defend in the last weeks remaining of the term and therefore run the risk of the deadline passing them.
- Students apply for degree (or certificate) by the application deadline via ULink:
- Spring 2023 degree applications will be accepted from:
- November 15, 2022 to April 14, 2023
- Doctoral students must submit their these/dissertations by April 29, 2023
Note: Graduate students who fail to apply for a degree during the semester in which they intend to complete courses will be subject to Master’s Candidacy/Doctoral Candidacy fee for every upcoming semester until they do apply for graduation. Master’s/Doctoral Candidacy fee is equivalent to two credit hours of graduate tuition.
