The University of Louisville Center for Research in Mathematics and Science Teacher Development (CRiMSTeD) ) became an official university center on September 13, 2002, with founding director Dr. William S. (Bill) Bush (retired).
The Center is housed in the College of Education and Human Development, allowing it to build upon strong collaborations already established among faculty in the College, faculty in Arts and Sciences and in Engineering, and teachers and administrators in local school districts. Its primary goals are to: (1) conduct research on the development of mathematics and science teachers from the beginning of their preparation program to the end of their career; (2) build exemplary models of teacher recruitment, teacher education programs, and professional development experiences based on this research, and (3) build doctoral programs in mathematics and science education that are nationally competitive.
