The Transfer to UofL Tool shows how your existing courses align with the equivalent courses at UofL. We have designed this tool to make your search easier by providing an unofficial estimate of your eligible transfer credit.
What to Know Before You Upload Your Transcript
When utilizing this tool, please keep the following in mind when reviewing results:
- This tool is designed for Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) and Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) students only. KCTCS students who have attended other transfer institutions, excluding UofL, may also upload those transcripts.
- Unofficial transcripts that include work from other universities or test credit (ex AP, CLEP) may be duplicated in results if submitted on multiple transcripts.
- This tool reads grades reads grades of A, B, C, D, E, F, W. If one of your colleges uses other grades, the system may not recognize the grade, and it could impact your results.
- If no grade is assigned to a course (ex. In-Progress), it is assumed to be successfully completed in your degree audit results.
- Grades of “TR” and “T” are assumed to be transfer courses and disregarded in your degree audit results. Submit unofficial transcripts from where that course was taken in order to get more accurate results.
Guide to Your Results
Courses marked Course Evaluation in Progress will be sent to the academic department for review. Submit your unofficial transcript again after ten days to see if courses have been returned with course equivalency information. Some results may be returned faster.
Some courses do not have a direct one-to-one equivalency with a course in the University of Louisville catalog. These courses, if they transfer to UofL, are assigned a psuedo course.
A pseudo course is a substitute for an actual course. It is an assigned value that helps our degree audit system and academic advisors know how a course can count toward a UofL degree. Just like all UofL courses do not count toward a UofL degree, a pseudo course may or may not count toward the degree you are considering.
