Comeback Cards

It’s possible! If you can reduce the balance to $4,000 or below, you can submit a new interest form, and we will review you again for the program. If you become eligible at that point, we will adjust your registration hold.

Comeback Cards is a gradual debt forgiveness program, meaning you won't see the entire debt forgiven at once. As you progress towards your degree, we will reduce your outstanding balance by $500-$1,000 each semester, depending on if you enroll part-time or full-time. This will continue until the entire balance is forgiven or until you graduate, in which case the entire balance is forgiven. 

Please note: You must have all tuition, fees and other associated costs (i.e. on-campus housing and meal plan) paid in full by the due date for each semester through financial aid or other sources in order to receive a payment towards your past due balance. 

Please contact our Bursar’s office to find out more information about your current balance. Their office can be reached at 502-852-6503 or bursar@louisville.edu. They can also provide you with more information on how to make a payment on your outstanding balance in order to meet the requirements for the program, if necessary.

To remain in good standing with Comeback Cards, you need to complete at least one earned hour each semester and stay current with your student account balance. For example, if you enroll in 6 credit hours but withdraw or fail those courses, you will not be eligible to receive a payment toward your past due balance for that semester.
