Judge Denise Clayton ('76) honored by KBA

Judge Denise M. Clayton ('76) was awarded the Kentucky Bar Association's Spain Award for Continuing Legal Education.

At its 2016 Annual Convention, the Kentucky Bar Association awarded Judge Denise M. Clayton the Spain Award for Continuing Legal Education.

The Thomas B. Spain Award, named for the first Supreme Court liaison to the CLE Commission, is awarded annually by the commission for outstanding voluntary contribution to KBA CLE programming.

Judge Clayton has served as a speaker for the KBA's Kentucky Law Update Program, Annual Conventions and Diversity Summit and has helped plan numerous other events.

"Judge Clayton is always an absolute pleasure to work with," says Mary Beth Cutter, the KBA's CLE director, in the May/June 2016 issue of Bench & Bar. "She is infinitely prepared, punctual, professional, humorous, and willing to go above and beyond even when it is difficult for her to do so."
