Jennifer Kovalcik ('02) elected to national IP law association board

Jennifer Kovalcik ('02) was elected to the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) Board of Directors in October 2016. She will serve a three-year term.

AIPLA is a national bar association formed in 1897, with approximately 14,000 members. AIPLA members represent a wide and diverse spectrum of individuals, companies and institutions involved in the practice of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and unfair competition law, as well as other fields of law affecting intellectual property.

Kovalcik has served the association for more than a decade in various leadership roles.

Kovalcik is a partner of Stites & Harbison, PLLC based in the Nashville office. She is a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology Service Group. Her practice concentrates on trademarks and technology, for which she handles trademark clearance, registration and enforcement matters; litigates trademark, copyright, unfair competition and trade secret matters; and drafts and negotiates a variety of technology agreements focused on software development and data security.
