Brandeis alum J.D. Nichols named Alumnus of the Year by UofL Alumni Association

The University of Louisville’s Alumni Association has chosen 1964 Brandeis School of Law graduate J.D. Nichols as its Alumnus of the Year.

Nichols is the chairman of real estate firm NTS Corp. and has served on UofL’s Board of Overseers and UofL Foundation Board. He began his career in real estate in 1965 and has since overseen the development of more than 10,000 acres of land for residential, commercial and industrial use.

In 2014, the UofL Foundation’s downtown office park was renamed the J.D. Nichols Campus for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in his honor.

Nichols will be recognized during an Oct. 22 event at the Louisville Marriott Downtown.

According to a news release from UofL, the association bestows the award on prominent graduates who have earned distinction in their careers and have been exemplary ambassadors for the university.
