Emily Spicer

Emily Spicer has earned a Fulbright U.S. Student Program Open Research Fellowship. She will conduct research for nine months in the Czech Republic as a fellow of The Exoplanet Group at the Astronomical Institute at the Czech Academy of Sciences.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research, study and teaching opportunities in more than 140 countries to recent graduates and graduate students. Administered in the U.S. by the Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright program was established in 1946 to promote international goodwill through education and cultural exchange.

I couldn’t be prouder that I advocated for myself and that I will get to advocate for women in physics through the research and outreach I will do in the Czech Republic."

Trustee’s Scholarship, UofL Summer Research Opportunity Program fellowship

Earned bachelors degree from the College of Arts & Sciences in Physics & Astronomy in May 2022.
