2022 Fulbright Scholar
Ekaterina Kovatsenko has earned a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to teach English in Bulgaria.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research, study and teaching opportunities in more than 140 countries to recent graduates and graduate students. Administered in the U.S. by the Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright program was established in 1946 to promote international goodwill through education and cultural exchange.

Grawemeyer Award Scholarship
Earned bachelors degree from the J.B. Speed School of Engineering in bioengineering in May 2022 and plans to return to Speed to earn her master’s degree before heading to medical school.
Inspiration:
“My parents are from Ukraine and Russia and I grew up with all sorts of Russian and Ukrainian sorts of influences, so I was really interested in applying to an Eastern European country to get closer to my family roots.”
