Miranda Mason
2016 Etscorn International Summer Research Award
UofL sophomore Miranda Mason has received an Etscorn International Summer Research Award to travel to Athens to explore socialized health care and the impact of Greece’s difficult economic situation on public health. She will intern at Evaggelismos Hospital (public) and Iaso Hospital (private) in Athens. The $4,000 scholarship was awarded to Mason by the College of Arts and Sciences and another $1,000 came from the university’s study abroad office.
“I have never left the United States and with the awards I have received I will have the opportunity to visit one of the most important cities in global history and explore its modern and ancient features.”
