Policies & Procedures

Parking Rules & Regulations

The purpose of these regulations is to expedite the safe and orderly conduct of university business and to provide parking facilities in support of this function within the limits of available space.

Severe Weather Procedures

In the case of university closures, the university shuttles (Belknap & Health Sciences Center Campuses) will not operate. Purple permits will be valid in Blue designated areas. If the university announces it will operate on a delayed schedule, the university shuttles (Belknap & Health Sciences Center Campuses) will operate on their regular schedules. If the university announces an early dismissal, university shuttles will operate for 2 hours beyond the dismissal time.

Abandoned Bicycle Policy

Campus bicycle parking facilities are limited and designed for temporary parking of bikes in active use, not long-term storage. Abandoned bicycles reduce the number of parking spaces available for others and can cause safety, accessibility, and aesthetic problems.

No Idling Policy

Unnecessary idling poses a risk to people in the vicinity and to the environment. The university's No Idling Policy states that all vehicles should be turned off when not in use or when the driver leaves the vehicle for any length of time. Equipment should not be left idling more than 1 minute and should be turned off unless doing so would hurt its operation.
