Full-Time Faculty at the Clinical Instructor, Assistant/Associate/Professor Level

The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and VA Hospital, is currently recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Clinical Instructor, Assistant/Associate/Professor level. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our expanding academic clinical practice. With 10 core divisions, we are a comprehensive department, offering a full complement of fellowship programs.  Our VA has ~100 beds and is part of the residency/fellowship training program.

The clinical expertise of the division’s faculty members covers the full spectrum of infectious diseases, including but not limited to HIV/AIDS, tick-borne infections, orthopedic infections, infections in immunocompromised individuals, pneumonia, and many others.

Qualifications
  • MD/DO
  • Board-eligible or Board-certified in Infectious Diseases
  • Must demonstrate exemplary clinical skills
    • Interest in clinical and/or basic science research
    • Strong interest in teaching
  • For the purposes of this application, board-certified/board eligible are considered experienced.

Job Description

The position is for 5/8ths VA and 3/8ths UofL.  There is an in-patient consult service, two half-day outpatient clinics and econsult responsibilities.  ID is also involved with the Infection Prevention & Control committee and the Antimicrobial Stewardship committee.
