UofL has a Level 1 Trauma Center, a bone marrow transplant unit, burn unit, stroke unit and other medical and surgical floors/ICUs.

Louisville is home to the University of Louisville, the Louisville Cardinals basketball team, and the Kentucky Derby.  It has a number of bourbon distilleries and its own professional Louisville City soccer club.  It is in central Kentucky and within easy reach of Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Lexington, and Nashville as well as natural beauty at the Red River Gorge. With a remarkably low cost of living; a stable, service-oriented economy; a diverse population; the availability of affordable housing; and an outstanding food scene, Louisville allows for a lifestyle hard to find in other areas.

Louisville has numerous unique restaurants and bars across the city, several festivals for food and music lovers, and a world-renowned arts scene at the Kentucky Center for the Arts and the Speed Art Museum. Louisville also has one of the country’s most extensive park systems with 120 public parks.
