Steps to Studying Abroad

1

Meet with an Advisor

Request an appointment by submitting the advising form. A staff member will reach out to schedule an Advising Appointment. The Office of Education Abroad will help you explore your options and start your passport application. UofL students can apply for a passport on campus at the Passport Place at UofL.

2

Start an Application in the Cardinals Abroad Portal

After you've met with an advisor, your Advising Application in the Cardinals Abroad Portal will become a Program Application. Login using your UofL credentials and complete the application and all requirements outlined within. For assistance with the application process, please reach out to us!

3

Apply to Your Program

The Cardinals Abroad Portal application is for UofL internal purposes only - you will need to submit a separate program application. Apply directly to the program and wait for an acceptance email!

4

Post-Acceptance Requirements

Once you are accepted, complete all post-decision requirements in the Cardinals Abroad Portal. You will also need to attend the mandatory pre-departure orientation. Depending on your destination, you may need to apply for a visa.

5

Go Abroad!

Book your flight, pack your bags, and enjoy your adventure! We look forward to hearing about your experience when you return.

I studied Psychoanalysis & Art - incredibly rewarding as I plan to work in art therapy. I gained independence, made friends & embraced Czech culture.
