Tuition Reduction - Graduate Education Programs

Tuition Reduction Initiative

CEHD is launching a pilot program that offers a reduced tuition rate per credit hour for advanced educator preparation programs beginning Summer 2019.

The new tuition reduction rate for Summer 2019 will be $529 per credit hour for face-to-face and $536 for online courses, which is approximately 25% less than the current graduate tuition rate.*

The following programs will offer the reduced tuition rate.

Initial Licensure Programs, Traditional and Alternative Route Options:

Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) with areas of concentration in:

  • Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (B-P) (IECE)
  • Elementary Education (P-5)
  • Art Education (P-12)
  • Health and Physical Education (P-12)
  • Integrated Music Education (P-12)
  • Middle School Education (5-9) in English, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies
  • Secondary Education (8-12) in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, English, Mathematics, Physics, Social Studies
  • Business and Marketing Education (5-12)
  • French (P-12) or Spanish (P-12)
  • Special Education in Moderate and Severe Disabilities (P-12)

Advanced Teacher Preparation, Including Online Options Where Applicable:

  • Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Educational Administration
  • Rank I
  • Master of Education (M.Ed.) Teacher Leadership
  • Master of Education in Literacy
  • Master of Education in Instructional Computer Technology
  • Master of Education in Special Education (LBD and MSD)
  • Master of Education in School Counseling

Endorsement Programs:

  • Classroom Reading
  • English as a Second Language
  • Elementary Mathematics Specialist
  • Gifted and Talented
  • Instruction Technology

Please note:
*The University of Louisville's base tuition rate is determined annually once the Kentucky State Legislature approves the recommendations from the University and the Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE). The 25% reduction will still remain in effect until Spring 2022.
