Biography
Dr. Sunjoo Lee is a dedicated piano pedagogue and performer serving as Lecturer of Piano and Staff Accompanist at the University of Louisville. She holds a D.M.A. in Piano Pedagogy from the University of South Carolina and dual M.M. degrees in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
A frequent presenter at major national and regional conferences, including MTNA, NCKP, CMS, SCMEA, and the Group Piano/Piano Pedagogy Forum. Dr. Lee's recent work focuses on inclusive teaching strategies and the integration of Korean folk music in piano literature. Her research interests encompass culturally responsive pedagogy, piano works by underrepresented composers, and innovative approaches to group piano instruction. She remains actively engaged as a private instructor and collaborative pianist, fostering creativity and inclusivity in both studio and classroom settings.
