Biography

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Louisville. I am also a co-director of the Center for Asian Democracy. My research focuses on modern and contemporary political theory, social movements, and the transnational politics of race, empire, and economic inequality.

My book, Reckoning with Racial Capitalism: Settler Colonialism, Anti-Blackness, and Left Critique Beyond Neoliberalism, was recently published by Columbia University Press. The book is based on my dissertation, which was the winner of the American Political Science Association’s Leo Strauss Award (2022), presented annually for the best dissertation in political philosophy.

My work has been published in journals such as Political Theory, Contemporary Political Theory, and Race & Class. I am also a co-author of a public-facing report, commissioned by Louisville Metro Government, on the history of policing in Louisville.

My CV is available here.
