Sharon Sanders
Biography
One of the joys in my life is teaching and watching students grow and develop into exceptional social workers. My background working in nonprofits as a social worker in an emergency director and then director of that emergency shelter, as a clinical social worker and then supervisor of several teams providing clinical, in-home and in-school services to children and their families who were struggling with the impact of mental health challenges, and my work with child protective services and the courts have contributed to my being able to bring knowledge, skills and understanding to the classroom and to students.
My years of teaching as an adjunct prior to joining the faculty here at UofL allowed me to develop skills in teaching a variety of students. I enjoy engaging students creatively, and I find myself learning each day from students and colleagues.
It is my hope that working together we can provide services to our clients, agencies, communities and the world.
